Excellent place to stay for all age groups.”
Beach needs to be cleaned by the hotel management if they consider it part of their property. Needs to have some more activities for people to participate like Table tennis ,Floor board games like chess etc. It would enhance the experience during the stay. Otherwise the resort is one you will remember your stay with for a long time.
Awesomatic Stay ”
The resort is in North part of Goa which is 40+ KM from Airport which takes quite a bit of travel. But it’s worth travelling. The staffs were well behaved and welcoming. I would highly recommend this resort for couple stay. Since the location is very nice for a honeymoon stay. Breathtaking view of backwater is the reason I booked the resort. They also provide free wifi and complimentary breakfast which is wonderful mix of western northern and South Indian food. Stay is bit expensive but it’s worth and wonderful. Resort is located in a calm and peaceful location and very very near to beach. Overall the stay is wonderful.
The location is beautiful best beach in Goa and right on it.. The rooms were gr8 and we were upgraded on arrival as there 10nights.. The staff were gr8 super friendly and helpful especially Diveya in reception.. I have to be honest though and wouldn't go breakfast option again as the breakfast was terrible.. Never any plates cutlery or milk and utter kaos..The door was always caked in grease from people's greasy hands.. Would definitely stay again just wouldn't get breakfast was a great restaurant on the beach that was cheap.. Also they need to chill out about pool towels as your on holiday.. Overall a great stay apart from breakfast and would stay again.. I think it's more of a 3:5 star than 4 star though to be honest.. If ever I returned I would stay again..
Best Honeymoon Resort in North Goa”
Riva Beach Resort is a best place located in North Goa. Beach is 2 minutes walking distance from the Resort. Food was awesome here. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Staff was very humble and so helpful. Mr. Melvin front desk supervisor was such a helpful person. He helped me a lot with all the process during my stay. I would recommend this resort as much as it’s my own.
At the cost what we paid, rooms need maintainence/upgrade and breakfast certainly needs improvement since many a times cups are not there, plates are not available ...otherwise it's one of the best and awesome place for a stay
Excellent location for peace lovers, Clean and beautiful resort but small rooms.”
Everything about resort is great, location is away from crowded beaches, beach is clean, Restaurant in resort has reasonable rates, staff is helpful and well trained. Only concern I face is small rooms, if u are travelling in a group, you dont have enough space for get together of a group of 6-8 people and cabana's in common areas are quite expensive. Every Sunday night they organise a happening party.
Beautifully located, almost perfect place”
We stayed at the beach cottage, with a bare minimum view of the sea. However, the cottage itself, and the porch in front of it, facing the beach, were excellent and quite spacious. Our stay here was very comfortable. Attention to a few things would have made it perfect: 1. There was construction work going on right next to our room which made loud noises throughout the day. Why it was being done during on-season is beyond my understanding. 2. There's an occasional power fluctuation that happens here when everything goes dark. 3. The plumbing can be much better - the hot water is not consistent and the shower was a pain to use. However, the resort itself and Mandrem beach make up for all this, and we were actually sad on the day we had to leave this resort and move to South Goa as a part of our pre-planned trip.
Nice location, excellent white sand beach”
Property is well maintained. courteous staff. Restaurant is great, spread and food quality was really good. Morning breakfast had a vast spread and good taste. Room sizes mentioned are not real, the room was relatively cozier than mentioned while booking. Swimming Pool is small, just good enough for kids to enjoy a splash. We tried using other facilities like fishing in the adjoining creek. We were fortunate to get a catch as well, we all enjoyed it. Only down side was the lack of parking space for your own vehicle, you have to just park outside along the road side, no dedicated parking area
The WiFi connectivity was poor. The AC didn’t work properly. The rooms were not clean and the bed linens and pillows were dirty. The property itself is worn out and requires an overhaul at many places. The food is good and the location of the property is great. However, I wouldn’t stay at this property again.
In the interiors but peaceful.”
Too far from the airport. One and half hour to reach. Try and get wooden cottages with waterfront/ beach view. Very peaceful. Beautifully built. Staff is friendly and Cooperative. Walking distance from beach.
Amazing location, poor management”
Riva's is one of the best located resorts with amazing views. Unfortunately, the staff is ill-trained, unfriendly and the place is run more like a low grade B&B. The food is okay. The views and access to the beach is great. No car parking available. Restaurant staff is untrained, and unwelcoming. We've stayed here a couple of times, only because of the location. But I doubt we would be going back to Riva's again. It's a pity, as they have the potential to actually be counted in the top 10 in Goa, based on the property alone.
Disappointing and very expensive!!”
Riva resort charged me £500 per night and the experience was terrible! The room smelt of sewage, there was no room service and no one cleaned the room. The restaurant took over an hour to bring our food which wasnt very nice! The breakfast was sub-standard and the coffee machine didnt work! The tables were not cleaned and their was no cutlery. There was rubbish floating around in the river outside and the staff were not very friendly. I explained to Riva that i didnt think the room was worth £500 per night and I would"ve like some kind of compensation. After 3 weeks the manager wrote back and said he had reported me to cyber crime India!! Absolutely disgusting way to treat your customers!
Major building works going on at his resort which we were not informed of, also booked a deluxe garden view room and upon arrival were shown to a very small room with no view. We were re-roomed to a luxury room which was larger but very tired fixtures.
Not the expected kind of place”
The day after we checked in we were advised that a Russian pool party was being organised every Sunday. The pool rapidly filled with an unsavoury crowd of party goers paying 100 rupees each to enjoy the resort for the full day. Not minding the fact that a bit of activity was happening, we thought we would go with flow and try enjoying ourselves. All the chairs in front of my verandah were used by the crowd, we were told that drinks we’re only available from the party bar. Fighting with my elbows against drunken people was not the most pleasant thing, neither the attitude of most of the crowd. I believe that as a paid guest the minimum service should be to have a bar reserved for paid guests and that some complimentary food and drinks should be offered as a compensation for the hassle. In term of cleanliness, the place is ok but the bathrooms and walls are in serious need of attention. The blinds are super mouldy for exemple. I’m not Convinced about the quality price value.
Great week spent at Riva ”
Just came back from spending 6 nights at Riva and we loved it. The hotel grounds are really beautiful, lots of palm trees and a 2 min walk to the beach across a wooden bridge over a peaceful river. Our room was clean and modern, nice big bed and seating area inside along with a balcony which was perfect to sit out on in the early evening. The bathroom was a wet room with a waterfall shower - which was the only part of the room that looked a little tired but still perfectly functional. Lots of options at breakfast and they also had an omelette and crepe station - although on two mornings the station didn't have anyone serving which was disappointing. Perhaps we were arriving a little late, so would recommend going before 10am. I would say the only thing that upset us was the taxi's waiting outside of the hotel were pricey and they seemed to quote high compared to other taxi's we got in other parts of Goa.
Best Place for Vacation in Goa”
The best of Riva Resort is its Location. Its just in front of the Beach, so anyone can go to visit or swimming pool without wasting their time. Beach is clean and mostly foreigners visit there. I fully enjoyed my trip. Thanks Riva Beach Resort.
Very clean good mendrim beach just 100m away. Good view. Nice swimming pool. ”
Pros: Good view, clean swimming pool, nearness to mendrim beach. Good restaurant, but slightly expensive, particularly non veg items. Cons: No regular water for rooms. 2 mineral water bottles per day per room is not sufficient.
The hotel was in a beautiful setting, the staff were very polite and efficient and the breakfast each morning was great. The breakfast had a very good selection each morning, and the restaurant was very reasonably priced. The hotel is abit in the middle of nowhere, but for a mere 20 ruppee you can catch the local bus directly outside and head to the local town for abit more of an adventure.
Best Place for Couples to Enjoy Solitude by the Beach”
We went to this place at the end of July. The resort is about 2 mins walking distance from the beach and we made the best of this. The beach is very clean and well maintained. The hotel is also perfect- has a swimming pool and the cottages are beautiful. We got one with the sea view and the view is awesome- you can just sit in the balcony stare at the sea and have a fantastic time. There's a scooter rental service available right outside the hotel and they charge you about INR 250 a day which makes it really convenient to roam around Goa. Arambol beach is at a walking distance of about 30-45 minutes (around 3 KM I think)- the sunset there is awesome. The breakfast needs a little improvement though- it has both Indian and Western cuisines and the Western cuisine to me looked like they made available just for namesake. Overall it was a great experience!
Riva beach resort was a value for money if you are looking for quite getaway from busy life, this is a perfect place to be in Goa. The location is faroff from the city life and thus makes it more comfortable stay. Food is awesome, Please do try their cheese naan. They do try to get some extra charges like if you break some crockery or misplace you keys they would be charging you very high for even nominal things. My overall experience was good. Would recommend a stay here
