Superb Services”
Visited Varivana during the Covid-19 locked down period. Only a few rooms were checked in and no kitchen service provided but we were not left hungry. Though we got a very special room rate, we’ve got room upgraded and free transportation from the ferry harbor with a lunch stopping by at a nice seafood restaurant by the nearby beach. The room decoration, the spectacular view from the pool on the roof top have made our stay far more than expectation. It was very fun when riding a free bike down the hill to have dinner by the beach watching the Sun setting. After checking out, we received a message from the Front Desk that we had left a bracelet in the room. It was mailed to us for free. We love this place!

Concrete condo in the middle of a tropical island”
Rooms were great. Minimal and modern with huge bathroom with big windows overlooking the jungle. Balcony was spacious and beanbag was unique in a land of hammocks, but zero privacy if you seek privacy on your balcony. Infinity pool is great for a swim, but very little shelter from the very strong sun even with the umbrella loungers. No gym which would've been good for this place. Restaurant was suddenly closed due to covid and no upgrade or discount offered. Coffee was standard for such a place. Staff were very friendly if not that helpful. It's a 5min motorbike ride to the beach and any restaurants or bars . Finally, spectacular views, over the jungle to the sea for sunset, and mountains to the north. Worth a visit or a stay for this alone.

male restroom at the pool has no door, female restroom has no light and if you want breakfast you have to order 1 day in advanced which is annoying. I paid 800 for a night because of government campaign discount but I would not pay their normal price for sure.

We had a great time and enjoyed our stay at Varivana Resort Koh Phangan. The staff was so nice and friendly (front desk, breakfast section...). Even though we arrived at the hotel quite late on that day, they were waiting for us with a big smile. Moreover, their breakfast was so so impressive! I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

The hotel is stunning with a modern concrete stile design, the location is not on the beach, but if you have a vehicle that's a very comfortable spot to get anywhere on the island. The pool view is mind blowing.

Absolutely awful experience!”
We booked this hotel as it got some great reviews when it opened and as a designer I am always interested in staying in Design led places. It might have been better when it first opened and was under proper management but our experience was terrible / shocking - firstly the exterior has been allowed to be run down and as soon as we arrived we knew we had made a big mistake. It looked very grey and cold - I love minimalism but this was not appealing - There is no artworks or greenery in the whole building which makes it feel very cold and soulless, compounded by the fact there is no real outdoor area or connection with it - just miles of grey concrete and metal and no luxury of space anywhere through out the whole complex. We had booked a Mountain view room and on check in I asked cheerily if we could have a room on a high floor (there was only about 6 other guests staying in the whole hotel!) They allowed us to move to the first floor - and said that was 'The best they could do" - (mountain view basically means being on the ground floor looking at a pile of weeds growing on their grounds!) our 'view' was basically looking onto some low trees.. The rooms are tiny, and have practically no furnishings at all - no bedside table or even a side shelf to put your things - let alone a table or desk. No privacy whatsoever from the adjacent rooms or the tiny terraces on the floors above or below. (not an issue for us since there was no other people next to us) but some guys picking weeds below could see right into our room and there is no sheers for privacy) You basically have the choice of lying on the bed or a very uncomfortable cheap looking little sofa at the back of the room looking at the back of the bed) . The very narrow terrace has a floor cushion and a foot stool - that is it. We had decided prior to arrival that we would just hang out at the hotel and have dinner there.. As soon as you pull up to reception the building looks stunning and the scenery is beautiful, reception are very welcoming and friendly and the view is great. Rooms are spacious and cosy with lots of facilities. The rooftop pool is out of this world capturing the most amazing sunsets with mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. Carol, the lady that works in the bar is one of the nicest and sweetest people i have ever met always going the extra mile with exceptional customer service always smiling and friendly. Would 100% recommend to stay here! I’ve now stayed here 3 times and will definitely be back!

This is a very nice resort, with really friendly and helpful staff. They took really good care of me. It is far from the beach, so you need a motorbike, but the view from the rooftop swimming pool makes up for that!

Peaceful modern accommodation”
He hotel is a couple kilometers away from downtown, but a couple of small thai restaurants and other shopping facilities nearby. The resort is near a hospital. The staff is very friendly and anxious fulfill the customer wishes. I enjoyed the nature and silence. They have an infinity pool with a unique view over the island. Highly recommend this hotel!
