Staff were friendly when we arrived. Unfortunately though after paying for a room with air conditioning we were put on the 5th floor with no AC because it was out of order. It was very hot and with the window open very noisy. When it was mentioned on the last day to the staff member at check out he shrugged his shoulders and basically said 'too bad'. However he did offer us free breakfast which unfortunately was no good to us as we had to get to the train station. We are fit people who don't mind climbing stairs but the elevator was so tiny that really had no choice but to hike the stairs if travelling as a couple and you were carrying anything larger than a small bag. I'd look elsewhere for better value.
Nice neighborhood but that's about it”
This hotel is badly in need of a makeover. It looks like it was last redecorated by Andy Warhol in the 1960's.
My room (when I was able to get into it) was very small and the shower cubicle was so small, I could barely fit into it. I had to for e the door to the room open with a hefty shoulder. The floor had dropped and the door no longer opened freely.
How many hotels these days still have old fashioned woolen blankets and quilts on beds? This one does.
It's in a nice area on the edge of Le Merais with lots of bars, cafes and restaurants nearby. There is a metro station right nearby and if you don't mind walking, you could make it to the left bank in 30-40 minutes or faster depending on how fast you walk.
Despite its shortcomings, it was reasonably clean and staff were generally friendly but I'm sure there must be better options available.
