Reception is really not helpful, when my mom get hurt and would like to find clinic, I call the reception for help, she respond me to go to hospital emergency service and queue 2-3 hours. I really feel surprised London has no other medical service operated on Saturday, does it mean I can’t get sick on Saturday？She also said ambulance service would not responds us and has no follow up, neither provide me hospital address nor call taxi. Finally I search the private clinic online and call Uber to take us!
It’s really unhappy experience !!!! =(((((
-breakfast with a lot of choices, but starting time is 7am. would be better if it started earlier to accommodate those who need to get out early.
-late check in time of 3PM (even if we asked at 1:30pm, the room wasn't ready yet)
-no elevator on the lobby floor, so if you have big luggage, you have to carry them up/down the stairs (although u could ask the staff to help u)
-no toothbrush/toothpaste set, the staff asked me to buy it myself down the street (still can't believe why a 4 star hotel don't have these in each room!
Building Site not Hotel”
Horrified to see that this previously fine hotel has now been reduced to B & B status with very limited facilities due to a major refurbishment which has seriously over-run & probably won't be complete before Xmas although the hotel staff suggested 6 weeks.
Currently old reception area lobby & bar stripped out and rubbish and fittings piled outside - now no dining or room service facilities, temporary bar in side room with very limited selection and some lifts out of service. Met other equally disappointed residents who like us had no idea the Hotel was continuing to operate under such conditions.
Why was nothing advised on your website - I would certainly have not booked this Hotel had I known and I consider that I paid good money for inferior accommodation.
Having said that we were only booked in for two nights & the room provided was clean & spacious and the staff were doing their best and kept apologising for the mess the Blakemore (signage currently removed) was in.
Could have been a “5/5””
Great location and helpful staff. Rooms were generous size (large for London) and the bed was really comfortable
Only negatives were some additional noise due to renovations and issues regarding the lift function
Hotel was renovating during our stay so we had to lug our luggage up one level before we can take the lift up to our room. Breakfast spread was good. Room is clean.
Staff great, hotel not perfect.”
Lobby renovation is ongoing and it has an impact. Very cramped temporary reception area, no lift on ground floor.
Room pleasant but TV not working properly, staff rebooted the control box so it worked for a while... Complained and were moved for the second night to a larger room, TV system still not working properly - no menus, etc.
Staff were all very pleasant and helpful, no concerns about cleanliness or noise. If they finish renovations and fix a couple of wrinkles
Due to construction work till July (I think) the facilities and rooms are a bit limited. Otherwise all good.
Good service and breakfast. Location is strategic and convenient ”
The hotel location is very good coz nearby Bayswater and Queensway underground. Like their breakfast especially their coffee is very good. The only thing is same breakfast is served for every morning. It will be great if the hotel can have different menu on their breakfast to cheer up the day :)
Hotel room is big and comfortable but the only thing is no room slipper provided.
Lovely find and good value”
This was a great find at a very good price - as building work is going on. It didn't affect us at all. The staff are lovely and very helpful. I love the location. It's in a very upmarket area and was fantastic for the tube and for walking in Hyde Park. Great breakfast too. Recommended
Blakemore - Good hotel”
Whilst it is undergoing some major renovation work to ground floor and basement the hotel is doing a good job at ensuring the inconvenience to guests is kept to a minimum. Staff are helpful courteous and friendly. When finished there will be a hotel of high quality. Our room was very comfortable, beds comfortable and no noise.
Good hotel in quiet Hyde Park Neighborhood”
The hotel is clean, good size rooms, and in a quiet neighborhood about 10 to 12 minutes walk from the nearest subway station (Underground/Metro) as well as restaurants, shops, bars, cafes and so on. The hotel staff is friendly, but most do not speak proper English so communicating at times, esp over the phone can be challenging. The price is also rather high for what you get, and there are many, more inexpensive hotels in the area. Overall a good stay. One tip, if your looking to take a taxi to the airport or anywhere really, I strongly suggest just going out onto the street and taking a standard London taxi. If you ask the hotel to call you a taxi, it will be with one of their contacts, which is an independent driver and not a taxi. I'm sure the hotel concierge gets a cut of this drivers fair. Take the Underground subway as much as you can if possible. Its great, somewhat cheap and easy to navigate.
Ideal solution for a tourist in London”
FABULOUS Girls Trip”
The staff were fabulous! I needed to make sure my friend was able to check into the prior to me arriving and I also wanted to have room service delivered to her as a surprise. They made sure everything all in order and they delivered her the most amazing tray of goodies and a glass of champagne. It was amazing!!!
