Great location, good value!”
This is a darling small hotel in the heart of Saint Germain, just footsteps from public transportation, and a few blocks from great shopping, the Musee d'Orsay, Notre Dame, and a number of iconic tourist spots. The staff was kind, helpful, and welcoming. I had a great stay, and would definitely do so again!
Good hotel with fantastic location. Only drawback is the poor installation of the windows which means that if you are on the street, you can hear the road noises very clearly
An excellent small hotel”
This hotel is fully modernized and located in the center of the left bank with multiple transportation links to other parts of the city. The staff is highly professional & very helpful. The breakfasts are splendid with many choices and good service.
Great location, friendly staff, the room was actually quite a decent size for Paris and the bed was so comfy! Would stay again for sure!
The hotel is overpriced and overrated. It was comfortable enough, but our room backed onto a school and the noise from the school was very disturbing. The air conditioning did not work and TV stations were limited. The room was comfortable enough, except for noise and no a/c, and yes it was reasonably close to tourist attractions, but there was no restaurant close by, the hotel was surrounded by commercial type buildings. The staff were not particularly helpful although friendly enough.
Great location, cosy, feel home”
The hotel is four level, and consists of 27 rooms only (if I don't remember wrong). Most of time it's fully booked. Having that in our mind, we went straight from airport n arrived 8am at the hotel without much hope for a room at that hour. As expected, we had to wait for room to be vacant. However, as we arrived, without saying a word, the duty staff at reception already called my name, which made us feel welcoming. He was helpful through our stay. He recommends restaurants, provides directions n advice whenever needed. Overalls it's a cozy hotel located in the center of city, accessible to all major attractions. We enjoyed walking from the hotel to the Seine river, to the Effeil tour, to the Louvre and, to avenue des Champs Élysées, all within walking distance. Definitely recommend it - hotel de l'universite.
Central Location and Good Access”
We enjoyed staying at the hotel, the room was comfortable, clean and the service was helpful. We were close to key Paris sights to visit and our family who live nearby. The hotel service and facilities were helpful. Unfortunately, at night the road outside was noisy and obtrusive and spoilt the quiet location.
Very cozy hotel.”
We stayed at a double room for 4 nights. It was a really comfortable hotel! I liked the modern and stylish room with a big and soft bed very much. Metro station isn't far and there is a supermarket on the way to the station. Even though it's close to Orsay Museum, the area is very quiet. There are lots to see in Paris but the hotel is the one reason that we want to go back there again.
Wonderful stay in à charming Rive Gauche!”
Wonderful stay in à real french and old part of the city of Paris.
Great hotel, great price and great location”
We stated at this hotel on 02/07/2013 for one night and we were very impressed, the hotel is only a three star however, it didn't feel like a three star because it was clean, modern and has large bedrooms. The location was perfect, we were albe to easily travel around either by foot or metro and the metro station was only approx 5 minutes walk from the hotel. What was great was that in the evening we were able to easily walk to St Michel to have food and drinks and there are lots of excellent restaurants and bars here. We visited an excellent Italian restaurant and the prices were very reasonable (compared to what you would pay in central London) the only downfalls of this hotel were that we did not have a view out of our bedroom window at all as we could only see concrete, however this did not impact on our stay as we were barely in the room. The only other downfall is the breakfast which is €15pp, breakfast consists of a bowl of croissants and bread with a selection of butter, mcheese and jams. There is the option to order cooked breakfast (fried egg, omelet etc however this costs extra, I felt the breakfast was overpriced for what it was but it was still delicious. The staff are friendly on the whole (we speak little French, however most staff were accommodating) I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends
Excellent location, comfortable room, friendly and”
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It is well located, near museums, restaurants, and good walking areas. The only downside was the limited continental breakfast...basically, juice, tea or coffee, and a basket of breads with butter and jams for 15 euros....not much variety for the prce. Other items, such as eggs, are available at extra cost.
Great location and nice renewed rooms ”
We had a wonderful week in Paris, the hotel is near to two Metro stations, very good restaurants and walking distance to many atractions and museums. The room are very confortable with free wifi
Lovely hotel, great location”
The Hotel de l'Universite was part of what made a five-day trip to Paris utterly satisfying. The location is perfect for someone who wants left bank, easy walking to museums and the Seine, plus quiet and comfort. The people at the desk welcomed we warmly in English and were very helpful with services like printing out museum reservations that I made online from my laptop. Good wireless connection. Very good breakfast in the morning though not included in room. Very good value for money. My small room was aesthetically pleasing with a good bed. Couldn't have been more satisfied. My only suggestion would be to note in the hotel information that the St. Germain des Pres metro stop is actually closer and more convenient when coming from de Gaulle airport than Rue de Bac.
Excellent location, room small but comfortable”
nice area with excellent shops. also i felt very safe walking back to the hotel late at night. the staff were helpful and friendly. room was small but well decorated, comfortable bed and i had everything i needed. within walking distance of good restaurants and rue du bac metro.
