The rooms in VP are small but tidy. Most rooms have either a direct or partial view over the ocean far below the city. Everything in the city is all within walking distance of the hotel. Ostrtia da Rita nearby is really a great place to eat. Unlike some places in Taoramina you can drive to the hotel and drop your luggage off. There is no parking and they will give you a permit to park on the street - finding a spot wasn’t too difficult in May but these were not close and I can imagine high season would be a challenge. I didn’t see any hotels in the city proper with much, if any, parking. The fact you can drive up to VP and drop luggage quickly is a plus. There is a large parking area as you approach the city that is perhaps a 15 minute walk from VP. We were able to find closer spots though, even with driving a large 8 person van.
Breath taking views ”
We stayed at Villa Paradiso during the low season at Sicilia, the location of the hotel was great , surrounded by a lot of restaurants , ask for dirección before your trip is a little confusing at times and gps would take you through the wrong street. The hotel has a restaurant with a nice breakfast at their 6 floor with stunnning views of Etna Volcano and sea. I took a Sea view room . I did not wanted leave the room to keep enjoying the view.
Location and view in this unique property”
Location and view are superb. Beautiful lounge with coffee table books. Fascinating to meet the dignified pater familias, now 86 years old, whose family have owned and run the hotel for many decades, and whose excellent twentieth-century art collection hangs on the walls of the public areas.
Room 461 is very large, with an extraordinary view of Mt Etna and the coast, sunny seating area, window-front writing desk, and full dining table.
We were there in the winter season but there is a tennis club and a shuttle to a private beach and pool.
Breakfast eggs, granola, fruit and overall presentation need improvement, but this is a minor quibble.
This hotel is poor ly maintained., shabby (without the chic) and run down. Everything is in need of replacement (beds furniture bathroom etc)
Terrific Taormina ”
Location, value, staff
Save the best to last on a four week holiday
good to have a quiet moment with my partner”
nice scenery and large room
Location and very friendly staff”
I've said I like atmosphere of old building but it would be better if owners keep it in better order. The rooms aren't big but real problem is audibility. There is one small elevator and very narrow corridors - so you hear each sound from there. Second door - even making room a bit smaller - could give more comfort. In 4 stars hotel they must think about such things. As well as about seemly breakfast for such price. All these gives an impression that the owners are too economical ((
stunning views of etna”
Etna and the Mediterranean
Everyone that looked after us at the hotel was extremely kind and helpful, from start to finish. As it was off season we were upgraded to a sea-view room which had the most amazing view of Mt. Etna. A great way to start every day! The hotel is very homely, comfortable and clean. Taormina is beautiful and a really lovely place to walk around, especially at Christmas. And easy too, as the hotel is in the centre, but not noisy.
