We were delighted to stay at Le Quartier Français. From the very friendly and attentive staff at the reception to the complimentary wine and delicacies in the room, complimentary car transfers within the Franschhoek area (quite convenient for wine tasting!), and a delicious breakfast, we could not have had a better stay!
Ideal location to explore Francshhoek”
Perfect location and beautiful hotel.
Pricey, but as treat wonderful.
Outstanding Villa number 13”
Villa has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with all the facilities you wish for.
However breakfast served at the Hotel is poor.
Good value for money if you are a group of 5 or 6.
Le quartier francais - disappointing”
Upon our arrive staff provided wrong information on availability of restaurant - that was why we stayed there. Bad start. Room was OK but heater didn't work right. Just about everything was just a bit off. For the price point expected much, much better. I would give property low four stars at best.
Exception to the above - The Tasting Room was a fabulous experience. If in Franschoek you should definitely have dinner there but I recommend staying somewhere else - not a good value.
Beautiful Hotel but grossly overpriced”
Location - Reastaurant
This hotel in Franchhoek is grossly overpriced for the product it offers. One would expect a 5* establishment to have crisp linen and a choice of pillows - none are evident. I just got the feeling that the staff lacked the 5 star quality. I also found the invasion of privacy by staff unacceptable. We stayed in a suite with its own pool and the staff who do the cushions and towels enter your "private" garden from a separate entrance without notice - a total invasion of privacy and totally unacceptable in ANY grade of hotel let alone 5*. The food at the highly rated "Tasting Room" restaurant was excellent and the staff were well trained and very knowledgeable. Breakfast was excellent.
All in all a very pleasant "overpriced" stay
Every bit as expected and more”
Food, Personal Service and Attention to Details
Every thing was wonderful. Love the fire place, warm bathroom floor, lovely soaps. Warm welcome from Timba.
Food at the Tasting Room was second to none. Chef Margot was at the bar when we were there and warmly shook our hands.
