Turned up not expected the hotel to be like a renovation site, but this was quickly sorted by the staff who upgraded our room, the room was very spacious and clean worth the money, apart from the noise at times early in the morning due to work being carried out it was ok. The bar is pricey but we never tried the food as the town is very close we walked over to Gino Decampo's Restaurant also very expensive but worth every penny,if you like Prosecco well worth a visit.
Room was clean and spacious
No hot water in room and room wasn’t made to twin roof after being told it would ”
Room dated dirty poor lighting ”
Food was good location is ok staff friendly the room had no main light standard lamp didn't work curtains torn and dirty windows and frames filthy room generally dirty clean towels and bedding room extremely dated this was a birthday treat for my friend expected a little better than this
oldy worldy hotel - fantastic grandeur - vertigo inducing patterened carpets - so with old worldy comes oldy worldy rooms soom good some bad - lots availabl;e - so inspect and ask for an alternative if you dont feel comfortable - large is good - some are sparse - draughty windows are bad - breakfast room is monstrous - a pleasent experience without the old world charm
Not ideal for family”
Kids will not enjoy the pool as only limited for 1hr. Our main purpose of booking with them is for kids to use their pool but was told not to use with kids on the time we wanted, was told to comeback at 12noon to 1pm for kids to use pool. Very surprise for a £8 parking charge onsite parking which I was not told by Reception upon checking-in on that charge, the guy in reception just asked for registration and says so that they knew it’s my car not even says that it’s £8 charge. It was very disappointing stay.
not Majestic enough”
I regretted my hasty booking with Agodo , as on discovery , the c. £100
charge excluded breakfast- cost £20 for two
The hotel also charged £8 to park on site, when there were less spaces than cars, with a wedding in progress
While the room was good and clean, the outside of the windows had not been cleaned for maybe ,years
It was a Christmas gift from our three children, for 1 night, B&B which included, a spa pamper day, three course evening meal, We then booked a further night with agoda and yes we enjoyed every minute, staff very polite and nothing was too much trouble, We would defo go back
Majestic in name only”
We have stayed in Harrogate on numerous occasions and always wondered what it would be like to stay at the Majestic hotel, so we booked a two night break there after Christmas.
The building certainly looks majestic from the outside and the public areas inside are impressive. However, the room we were given (303) was terrible: there was no heating in the bathroom; the shower was tepid; there was no blind for the bathroom window; in the bedroom wallpaper was peeling off and the curtain was hanging off the pelmet. Apart from that, it was perfect!
We moved the second day to a much nicer room (208) but discovered in the morning that again there was no heating in the bathroom and no blind at the window. Is this some weird Yorkshire tradition??
The hotel also charges £8 a night for parking, so we ended up parking on a nearby street
Overall, therefore, the not-so- Majestic is in our humble opinion the worst accommodation we have ever booked in Harrogate.
Excellent hotel in a perfect location”
We had read other reviews that the hotel was a bit tired. No sign of that at all in the reception and dining areas and our room. Staff extremely helpful and friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Perfect location, loads of parking and a short walk to the town centre. Will definitely stay again.
Very pleasant. ”
From walking through them doors 5* all round . Well worth a visit .
