The hotel was a good value, but some of the staff were not friendly or very accommodating. He told me Agoda is a bad company and I shouldn’t have used it. He scared us by telling us there is a lot of theft at the hotel. The location was good.
DO NOT STAY HERE - Money stolen by staff ”
The stay was plesent until we got money stolen by our maid and the hotel staff did nothing at all to help, nor did they discipline their thieving staff. DO NOT STAY HERE
Nice Hotel, Great Location”
Very nice hotel.
Only 2-3min walk from Leidsplein tram stop.
Room we had was small, which is not unusual in Amsterdam but nicely decorated & warm.
Staff were all very friendly & helpful.
The breakfast was excellent. Freshly made croissants from the kitchen every day. Also freshly ground coffee.
As well as an array of cheese, cold meats, breads, jam & fruit. Too much to list really.
Only 1 small moan is that for a 3* hotel they could have kettles in the rooms.
But they do offer coffee & tea to purchase in reception if you want.
Overall this is a very nice hotel & we enjoyed our stay.
I recommend this hotel for any stay in Amsterdam.
We will be returning to this hotel on our next visit to Amsterdam.
Good Price, Excellent location”
Walking distance to museums. Good breakfast.
I would not recommend this Hotel for any Indian or Asian tourist for the sheer racism and snobbishness that we faced here. I would just narrate my experience here for the readers to make a judgement on their own.
The hotel had a 'Tours and Tickets' booklet kept at the Reception with the same booklet being also kept inside our Hotel Room as well. We checked into the Hotel in the late afternoon and went through this 'Tours and Tickets' booklet with various tours and their prices mentioned in the booklet. We selected an activity that we wanted to experience that evening in Amsterdam and went down to the Hotel Reception. I greeted and gently asked the guy at the Reception about that particular activity and where can i get the tickets. Upon this the Receptionist very rudely replied that "I have nothing to do with this". Surprised at this rude response I asked the reason why the booklet is prominently kept everywhere and even inside the Hotel Rooms. To this again he rudely replied that the Tour Company no longer exists and he has no knowledge of the booklet. I showed him the booklet and asked if the Tour Company no longer exists then what is the purpose of keeping the booklet inside the Hotel rooms if one cant book the tour. At this he got too agitated and stated that "You are lucky to get a Hotel in this location for today". This superciliousness and arrogance was too much of us and we simply left thanking him for his help.
As we strolled down to the Dam Square area of Amsterdam, we found that the 'Tours and Tickets' booklet company indeed existed and even had multiple offices in that area.
I leave it to the readers to decide whether this was not a case of clear cut racism being practiced by the arrogant Receptionist!!!
Nice small hotell in a nice area”
Very small rooms but Clean. The location is good, you can walk into the city centre. The breakfast was included even if it says at Agoda that its not. Very helpfull staff.
Ruin the entire impression of the country Holland ”
For a room of two, the space is terribly small, inside which is just a queen bed and a tap but nothing else. Don't try to move too quickly, or else you'll get tons of bruises on yourself. It's not for anyone to be staying, if you look for a rest or pleasant moment.
Just for the museums”
A great place to stay for the museum time - and off the crowd!
Good location, but really cold in winter”
We stayed in mid-February. It was very cold in the hotel. No ACs in the room. Central heating was on at 10pm when we checked in and then it was off after 11pm, which is fine but it did not start working again even at 9 am in the morning! We wanted to leave quickly in the morning since it was freezing in the room!
The room was tiny, a bed and a closet barely fit in. It was sufficient for one night stay though for we spent the whole day outside.
It was clean in terms of bed sheets and bathroom stuff, but the doorway to the bathroom was pretty dusty I could not step on it.
The staff at the reception was friendly and helpful.
Breakfast buffet was satisfactory. But in busy times, expect the breakfast area to be too crowded due to small space indoors.
Good stay but a few things to note”
Location; Staff; Breakfast
I arrived at 11pm and the receptionist was kind enough to stay an extra 30 mins after his shift to check me in. He wouldn't stop with giving me advice about the city - great guy. The location is excellent! right on the edge of the hustle and bustle but very close to the museums, bus/tram stops (but everything is walk-able) Request for a room above 1st floor as I was on the bottom and heard lots of noise from people walking during breakfast in the morning. I had a single room and the mattress was a bit lopsided. Room was clean but bathrooms TINY. The breakfast was excellent and heard the gardens are quaint.
helpful staff. Hotel a bit cold.”
Staff are efficient and helpful. Hotel location is close to museums and easy to find.
Unfortunately the room was quite cold. My room is in floor -1 which was like underground and above was breakfast room. So, from 6am until around 10am, it was noisy. I could hear chairs moving and people walking.
Close to everything you need”
great breakfast, walking distance to city sites, fast internet
there was a great breakfast buffet, then you can walk to all the local museums and cafes.
Internet was VOIP quality.
