Very good location in the middle of the historic sites.
Room ok, because balcony door broken can not rate better,. Good selection at breakfast.
Best Location in Sintra !”
Located right next to Main Palace of Sintra. Great views of Moorish castle and other highlights.
Rooms are spacious. We took one with valley view. But rooms look old and tired. With peculiar smell. Beds Are not the best. But location location location !
Thank you for sharing your experience of staying at the Tivoli Sintra with us.
We apologize if some aspects of our Hotel did not meet your expectations during your stay.
We just want to tell you that we are going to have a full reburshiment schedule to the next November, and we will take into account your feedback regarding the carpets and the cofee/tea maker.
We hope we can receive again on your next visit to Sintra.
My best regards,
Offhandedly told us where car park was but did not tell us how difficult it was ”
Also did not tell us it was very narrow and we could get stuck in a large car. Fortunately we just scraped through with no damage.
The title says it all. We had to wear flip flops around our room it was so bad, especially the bathroom. Good thing we were only there one night.,
Great location! ”
This hotel is right in the middle of everything! Staff were friendly. Room was clean. Free wifi in the lobby
The hotel is excellently located right in the heart of the town. The staff and service culture is very lacking with seemingly too few staff to attend to customer requirements in a timely and friendly manner. An example was the Bar area being unattended whilst 8 to 10 people sat around awaiting service (provided by an inexperienced head waiter from the dining room after numerous complaints to Reception) WiFi is only free in the lobby unless you fill in a Tivoli international form. Oh, the password is changed every day but you only find out about this when you complain. I had to go to Reception on foot to complain as the phone in the room did not work. I had been promised a fix on day 1 but on day 2 it still was not fixed.
Management attitude change is overly required here.
old out dated”
Old outdated hotel with hard beds and uncaring staff

View, Location, Room
This hotel was probably great about twenty to thirty years ago. It is a bit like a timewarp in that one steps into the late seventies as soon as the lobby is entered. The rooms are a bit run-down and the infrastructure poor - one PC for all guests, the lift was stuck between rooms and out of order, the food and breakfast service unappealing and delivered by staff well past retirement age. Also, front of house staff were unusually rude and seemed to resent the presence of guests. The way in which they spoke to some of their older guests was also appallingly patronising and brusque.
However, the room itself, once one accepts the fact it needs a refurb, is quiet and peaceful, and if booked specifically, affords an absolutely wonderful view of Sintra and the surrounding forest.
OK overall, but not for more than one or two evenings, if you are older than 60, or if you have a short-temper.

We were on top floor; it was a delightful to sit and view the castle from our balcony. Underground parking was tricky but a plus in such a small town.

Good location in the old town, nice beds, stunning view over the landscape
We really enjoyed staying at Tivoli Sintra Hotel. It´s a very nice hotel, beautifully situated close to one of any castles in Sintra. The view over the landscape is stunning (although we couldn´t see to much of it because of the mist...) Really good room with large and nice beds.
Large balcony with fatastic mountain view”
Large balcony, large room, good view
We have been stayed in Sintra for sightseeing. The room we booked in mountain view with large balcony, this was very enjoyable to spend breakfast/ tea there. The view is fantastic, which can see one of the attractions - castle. And the hotel is located at the city centre, restaurants and bars are just downstairs.
Location at palace
Very good. A little noise from renovations during the day.
perfect location near the placa
The desk staff were friendly and helpful and gave us lots of info re. local bus trips and other sightseeing tips. The hotel bar and restaurant had a fabulous balcony, tasty food and efficient service. The room was lovely, very clean, quiet and comfortable with a private balcony. I would definitely stay there again.
Lovely hotel with fantastic views”
Great, central location and superb views from dining room, bar and room
Enjoyed having own balcony with view
Excellent location with fabulous view”
Location in Sintra's historic center, quiet, breath taking view, close to outdoor cafes, restaurants, shops, walks
Sintra is not to be missed. It is a rare combination of natural and man made beauty. The Tivoli Sintra Hotel is located perfectly for travelers with and without a car--in the heart of the historic center, near cafes, restaurants, shops, and public transportation for those without cars. Ask before you drive to look for the hotel's garage as there are not spaces for all the hotel guests. The rooms are spacious for European standards with a desk, comfortable chairs, balcony, and king bed. Though not luxurious, the furnishings are adequate making the Tivoli Sintra a great value. The lobby makes good use of the fantastic view which includes castles and the palace.
