"A quick note on the five-star rating: it cannot be a legit 5-star due to specific requirements such as a golf course on the premises. Not a golfer myself, I didn't really care about that. Just semantics. The hotel was very nice and certainly upper-echelon. The only local food places we found were very "local," so if one isn't about adventuring Taiwanese foods, then you'll need to take a cab elsewhere unless you're okay with overpriced hotel food. I tried the burger but was greatly disappointed. No refund requested, but I'm willing to bet they would have honored a refund request if made. Another evening a team of three concierges helped me order a pizza from Domino's. A bit overkill, but they were all so willing to help that I didn't want to let them down. The pool is a well-kept, albeit only two-lane, lap pool. But it was never crowded even during this busy holiday weekend, so I doubt you'd ever have a problem taking a leisurely swim. The gym wasn't large, but all necessary work-out equipment + treadmills are provided. The sauna was one of the cleanest, well-maintained I've been in. Nice amenities and excellently hot sauna, steam room, and whirlpool. (Plus an ice cold pool.) We (couple + 2-year old) will definitely will stay here again. "

"This Hotel is the best that I've stayed in Taipei. It is very well-priced and it opened in about 09/12. The staff are very polite and everything is well thought of. It is also a stone's throw away from an MRT station which makes transport an easy subject. A must stay if you are looking into the ZhongShan district !"

"It was a pleasant and very memorable stay, and get to have a nice view of Taipei city. The view in the evening is fantastic and we checked,in and out within a minute. Very fast and efficient staff at the reception and I don't event need to show them my hotel voucher, just let them know the name and show them passport, and they immediately passed me the keys to my room. When I requested in a change of room, they got a staff to pass us the keys within a couple of minutes and help us bring our luggage to the new room. It was one of the best hotel I stayed, although the building was old, but it was well maintained and the great service compensated for that! I would definitely stay in this hotel if I travel to Taipei again for leisure."

"The staff is SUPER friendly, helpful, and make you feel at home. The rooms are very clean and the whole place has awesome art painted on the walls. You need a key card to get into women bathroom but not mens which made me feel like they were on top of it as far as caring about safety of customers. There are even help buttons you can push! There best breakfast/brunch sport is just a next door at a place called Rita's Cafe. They actually have a Mexican breakfast burrito on the menu that us out of this world! Make sure you like spicy food if you order it cuz it's filled with chopped red and green peppers along with egg, chicken, and cheese. It's located near MRT stations and lots of money exchange places so it was pretty convenient to do stuff. Oh and the night market is only a 7 or 8 min walk. Stay here!"

"Regrettably, I have to say it was not up to my expectation. I feel they should not have opened this hotel for business yet, at least not under the name of Marriott. Hotel building / facilities are not completed, nor are staffs ready for business. 1. I made booking from Thursday until Sunday. On my arrival I was told that my booking through Agoda is based on weekday rate. I was asked to pay difference of weekday and weekend rate. I have never had such an experience of paying difference after confirming the booking. (Don’t know Agoda’s problem or Hotel’s.) 2. Taipei Marriot has prepared a baby bed and baby bath for my 1 year old daughter. It was nice things. Unfortunately, the room was tight in space so we have requested a bigger room. Taipei Marriott arranged bigger room for us with additional payment. But the amenity kit in the new room was only for 2 adults, despite booking for 3 adults and an infant. I had to call housekeeping for a couple of times. 3. Construction of building & facilities are not completed. Swimming Pool has yet to obtain license for operation and all restaurants are still under construction except 1st floor café and restaurant for breakfast. I don’t understand why they don’t mention about it. They even don’t bother to block access to those construction areas. 4. While having our breakfast, we had to request cream for coffee for two days in the row. This is just one of those examples we had to endure… 5. When my guest was at the hotel to deliver some goods to me, hotel staff made unpleasant joke to him. 6. Throughout our stay there was an old water hose hanging outside the window of our room. There was a notice of window cleaning but I don’t understand how it relates to this hose and why they leave it like that. I did not see any activity of using this water hose anyway. You can receive better service from four or three star hotel. Overall, like many others already mentioned, I cannot recommend this hotel to others. "

"Clean and constantly maintained, very professional staff, and sleeping in dorm gave a lot of privacy. The location is quite close to the metro(be careful Zhongshan ELEMENTARy school -orange line) not the Junior high school. Great common facilities on rooftop with kitchen, sitting area, and rooftop deck. Wifi was excellent and the mirrors in the bunks was a great idea that everyone should use. Will absolutely stay again."
