Zhongshan District hotels & places to stay

We stayed in the regular room on the Tai Pan floor and had a dedicated check in/out counter that also offered sightseeing advice and recommendations. This counter was always ready to answer any of our questions with friendly staff, even when we approached it at odd hours of the night. The private lounge was stocked with all kinds of drink with happy hours from 5.30pm to 10pm. Personally would have liked more food like sandwiches and other food to be available but the finger food that was served would be considered to be sufficient. Hotel room was spacious and bathroom was large and everything was clean and in order. Internet in the room was totally stable and really fast. Breakfast offered was very good, with a selection of both the local food like mee sua and porridge and also international food like scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. Good and wide selection available. About 5 mins walk to the Zhongshan MRT station made the location of the hotel v convenient to get around Taipei. Recommended for travellers willing to pay a little more for great comfort and convenience. Thumbs up!

A quick note on the five-star rating: it cannot be a legit 5-star due to specific requirements such as a golf course on the premises. Not a golfer myself, I didn't really care about that. Just semantics. The hotel was very nice and certainly upper-echelon. The only local food places we found were very "local," so if one isn't about adventuring Taiwanese foods, then you'll need to take a cab elsewhere unless you're okay with overpriced hotel food. I tried the burger but was greatly disappointed. No refund requested, but I'm willing to bet they would have honored a refund request if made. Another evening a team of three concierges helped me order a pizza from Domino's. A bit overkill, but they were all so willing to help that I didn't want to let them down. The pool is a well-kept, albeit only two-lane, lap pool. But it was never crowded even during this busy holiday weekend, so I doubt you'd ever have a problem taking a leisurely swim. The gym wasn't large, but all necessary work-out equipment + treadmills are provided. The sauna was one of the cleanest, well-maintained I've been in. Nice amenities and excellently hot sauna, steam room, and whirlpool. (Plus an ice cold pool.) We (couple + 2-year old) will definitely will stay here again.

My family stayed seven nights at Cityinn and enjoyed our stay. Our family room was a little small but they make good use of the space. The room itself was very quiet and we did not hear our neighbors at any point during our stay. The toiletries provided in the room were excellent and were routinely replenished each day. The cleaning staff work hard and it shows. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent and is just a few minutes walk away from the nearest MRT station (Zhongshan Junior High School). We ate at several of the restaurants surrounding the hotel and enjoyed them all. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Taipei.

I visit Taiwan at least twice a year and had been stayed in hotel of different grade, This hotel can be said as one of the best one in this few years. A very spaceous room with twin beds and a nice armchair. The bathroom is very nice too with both shower area and bathtub. The room got nice soundproof so I slept soundly during my stay. I really appreciate the bathroom which with wall (but not glasses ) as partition so will not feel embrassing in case you are travelling with family or friends!

Great place to spend our last 2 nights in a month long Taiwanese adventure. Excellent location in the Zhongshan District. Staff was super accommodating to our fairly long list or requests (we aren't usually high maintenance, I swear). The restaurant was fine but not exceptional. The room was spacious and clean. The shower was heaven and the bidet toilet was also divine.

Good location near to Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Mall and walking distance to Zhongshan MRT Station. There's also a bakery, restaurants, massage place and also convenience store just outside the hotel. Staff are well-trained and speaks excellent Chinese and English. I made a mistake and selected 1 adult only when booking room when we actually had 2 person and the hotel nicely agreed to provide breakfast for my travel partner without additional charges. The room (city view) we stayed in was considered a little small, but modernly decorated and comes with lots of useful facilities, like microwave oven, stove, fridge and even a printer! Some of the sitting areas seemed a little dusty though, and would be great if the staff could spend a little more effort cleaning the non-obvious areas too, like the lamp and work desk. We got 2 single bed, and the bed was really small but sufficient and comfortable. Shower and toilet was fantastic with great amenities and layout.

The rooms were large and comfortable. The bathroom was big as well. The hotel is a short 3min walk to Zhongshan MRT on the red line (1 stop away from Taipei main station). The location of the hotel is definitely good, and the surroundings are not messy while it is bustling with shops. There were many Japanese staying at the hotel when I was there (probably because this hotel is part of the Nikko Hotel chain?). Noted that most of the staff knew how to converse in Japanese. The staff were attentive and the level of service was what you would expect from a 5 stars hotel. Do try the cakes from the hotel bakery - the macadamia cake and cheesecake were delicious! I will return to this hotel if I visit Taipei again!

Everything positive you've read about Linsen Fun is true. Due to a prolonged trip, my stay here turned from 3 weeks to nearly two months! But I can say my stay here has been overwhelmingly enjoyable and positive. First, the room I booked was a Business Twin that overlooks a school courtyard. My experience with the sound insulation was very good. Even with neighbors that sometimes had loud conversations, sound insuation was about 80-90% muted from thick insuation. I was also fortunate enough NOT to encounter rude neighbors during my stay. Rooms are clean and well kept. The 24-hour maintenance staff is Exemplary! They really try to cater to your needs and it was a welcome sight every night to come back to a thoroughly clean room. While cleaning staff was Excellent without fault, the staff that works the front desk wasn't without problems. Their attitude can sometimes be aloof or indifferent, did not show any obvious signs of enthusiasm, but they always got your request completed thus deducted two stars from "Staff", otherwise everything else is easily Five Stars! You'll be hard pressed to find another location in Taipei that offers better convenience. Literally less than a 10-minute walk from the nearest MRT station (Chung Shan School stop), the bus stations are even closer only 5 minutes on foot from the entrance of the hotel. Linsen North Road is a major intersection in Taipei and easily serviced by two dozen bus lines, and the buses are CHEAP (fare remains unchanged at NTD 15----only USD 50 cents!!) The hotel is surrounded by gazillions of 24-hour convenience stores on Linsen Road--- dozens of 7-11 (the locals only pronounce "7" and delete the "11" when they reference the store), also 7-11 knock-off's like Family Mart, OK Mart, and my personal fave, "Life" pronounced "Lai Er Fu". There was a secretive atmosphere about the place - from driving into the garage, parking in your own personal space, having your own personal lift up. The best part was opening the door to the humongous (Maple suite) room - WOW!Did not expect the room to be so huge (better than the pic. The bathroom area was as big as the bedroom. Expect soft lightings and romantic music upon entering. I spent quite some time exploring every switch and remote as it was all so fascinating. The jacuzzi was the best part, and they provided a bottle of essence oil for your bath (really amazing!) Nothing to shout about the service as we hardly get to meet the staff - most of the time spent in the room and bathroom. Breakfast was okay, nothing too fancy. Pay a small fee and you get to enjoy the breakfast delivered (via a secretive cupboard) to your room. You don't even need to take a step out! Having a romantic stay at a love motel is a must-do if you are in Taipei! Did not seem as shady as the term suggests - I would say it's one of the most luxurious stays I ever had in any hotel.

Yomi Hotel is conveniently located at the heart of Zhongshan District in Taipei. The nearest MRT is the Shuanglian Station (Red Line) which about 350m (5 min walk) away from the hotel. There is a nearby 7-11, a Family Mart, and a Watsons store. There are also a number of restaurants and milk tea shops around the area. Not to mention the hospital and police station nearby. We got the Royal Triple Suite. Room is spacious. And there is a door which separates the queen bed area from that of the single bed for added privacy. Each “area” has its own TV. The comfort room is equipped with a Japanese-style toilet (which we really enjoyed using), a hot-cold shower and a sauna. YES, the room has its own sauna. They also provide instant noodles, doritos, and bottled water for FREE (replenished daily). The only thing I disliked about the room was the odor probably coming from the old carpet. They serve buffet breakfast from 7am to 9am. Not much selection, but enough to keep you full until noon. They also offer portable hotspot device which you can rent for FREE. Overall, we had an amazing stay. Thank you Yomi Hotel.

Excellent location and quaint hotel right in the middle of Zhongshan district. The MRT entrance was right next to the hotel, allowing for easy access to other places. Shopping centres were directly opposite the hotel, making shopping an easy and pleasant experience. Lastly, the room is great, with a jacuzzi and telly in the bathroom to soothe away the aches from walking ard and shopping in taipei. There were also some complimentary drinks and tidbits in the fridge for guests. Very considerate!

Among 5-star hotels, Ambassador is affordable yet it's a bit for from Zhongshan district. Most of the staffs are very kind, but it's quite hard to communicate in English. About room condition, when people talked each other, I could hear the voices from other rooms, which was a bit annoying at night. I called the reception about this, but something made me feel that I was the problem. If you want to stay near Zhongshan district with quite affordable price, I would recommend this hotel, but sorry to say, I don't think I would try again.

i chose this boutique hotel because i read that the hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets while it's only stone's throw from the nearest mrt. even though the mrt is not on a main line, it's still convient to get to the hot springs in beitou and shopping districts near the taipei railway station. i knew the double room is relatively small, so i decided to pay a bit more for the suite, which i don't regret at all. the suite is smartly decorated, with a 42-inch palsma tv which you can swing 180 degrees between the lounge and the bedroom. i knew there is a dvd player, so i brought my own dvd and spent one sleepless night watching my favourite drama series until 4am. the staff members are really friendly and helpful. and the buffet breakfast, though not great, surpassed my expectations. overall, i had a very pleasant stay and will surely stay again next time.

We got the cheapest room so it’s VERY small. It has a small window but the room is still stuffy and enclosed. It works if you don’t spend most of your time in the room and just need it to sleep at night. Our room was clean. The shower was rubbish though. The nearest station is Zhongshan (red line), about 10min walk. It’s convenient to travel to Taipei Main station, CKS Memorial Hall, Taipei 101 as they are all on the red line railway. Nearby there are lots of convenience stores and places to eat.

Checking in to this hotel feels like paradise especially coming from another hell hotel. The staffs here are friendly and well trained. Always finding ways to help you out especially I needed to extend 2 more nights of stay and their hotel is fully booked and I cannot book anymore in Agoda. The hotel staff was so helpful in finding a way for me at the same old price. Talk about great service. The other thing great about this hotel is that it is located right beside the MRT station, so going around is city is so easy. Thank you to the staff of Golden China and keep up the good work.

I reached Taipei pretty early and reached the hotel ahead of time. Hotel didnt allow early check-in as I guessed they were fully booked. They offered to store our luggage at the concierge which was the standard for all hotels. The medium room was spacious and comfortable. The room and toilet were clean. Hotel provided free slippers which were availble to take home. Breakfast was ok but not fantastic. A good variety of juices to choose from though. Took the airport bus to Ambassador Hotel and walked 1min to Amba which was located just beside. Location is pretty near to ShuangLian and Zhongshan station. Approximately 10mins walk. After a long tiring day, walking back to the hotel can be a chore. However still bearable. Free laundry is a bonus for travellers who travel light. They provide dryer as well as washing powder as well. Water dispenser can be found in the laundry room as well. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel is located in Zhongshan just near Shuanglian station. It is just walking distance to Ningxia Night Market, passing through other shops along the way. There are 2 groceries nearby Carrefour near Ningxia and Wellcome at the back. Also walking distance to Nanjing W Road, with the high end shops are. The staff are very courteous and helpful for your needs and inquiries. There is also a self-service laundry which is very convenient. The room has a small balcony just enough for natural lighting. The room was just the right size and had a DESKTOP COMPUTER!!! - which was unique. Overall will stay here again as I have advanced booked a room at this hotel for my next Taiwan trip.

There are 2 Mai Hotel in Zhongshan. This is the new hotel that is less than few months old. That why we took a risk to try this hotel as me & my wife love to try out boutique hotel. We are intially shocked when they show us the basic room think we book (think is deluxe). It is so tiny that u dun even have space to put ur luggage. However, the front desk is kind enough to upgrade us to Superior Room with top up of 500NT per nite (ard Singapore $20). I think it is worth it. It is around 4 to 5mins to underground train. Not as convenience as compared to Ximending area. The street is super dark when u walk back to hotel from train station. But you have the Koi Bubble Tea (Name as "50 Lan" in Taiwan just 1min down the road when u are walking towards MRT station. The Mee Suan beside the bubble tea is also awesome. Comparable to Ah Zhong Mian Xian!! Must try!! Ya... the free breakfast is terrible

Very accessible by public transport.. near to the train station..and only a few stations away from zhongshan airport. The interior design of the hotel provided an amazing experience for us.. We had a WOW experience From the lobby to the lift to the room common area to the room itself..even to the cafe where breakfast was served..designs were very exquisite! Service at the front counter was quick and staff were friendly. Recommended for couples and honeymoon stays, as rooms were designed more for couples (as i had a bathtub in the room itself). Amenities were provided extensively as even facial cleanser and hair gel were provided. Will definitely stay here again , especially if there are promotions! Heard every room is designed differently!

The hotel is a bit difficult to find, located on the second and third level of a commercial building. Hotel location is not the best, about 10 min walk from MTR and located away from the more happening part of Zhongshan district. It seems to stuck within a residential estate. Room is of decent size, but travel mate have a much smaller room that do not even have space to open luggage. Breakfast spread is rather simple and have a backpackers feel. They do provide 2 washing machine and dryer though. Because of the location, not keen to stay here for future trips.

The hotel is very well located close to Metro station, the rooms are nice size and the facilities are modern and well taken care off. Staff very friendly and helpful when providing maps and ideas to visit around. We did not have breakfast included but you can find the best spot in the city a few meters away! The super uncle laymen brunches are superb! Definitely a must to try their bacon&banana& peanuts sandwich, the best ever! Also the best deep tissue massage place just on a parallel road crossing the small night market (ask for staff number 29 - the best! ). Thanks!

I have been to Taipei almost 10 times and this hotel is one of my favourites. In a city where there are so many hotel options, this one stands out for being one of the most clean, modern and spacious that I've stayed in so far. While not in the most commercial of districts, there are sufficient food and shopping options just a short walk from the hotel. Getting a taxi outside of the hotel is easy. But if you want to take the MRT, the station is just a 5 minute walk. Breakfast is average - there are better ones around and there are worse ones around. There is a gym / fitness room but no swimming pool. I travel to Taipei regularly and will have no hesitation coming back to this hotel.

The hotel offers excellent customer services. Counter staff will stand and greet every outgoing/incoming guests. Sometimes they will also small chat with you and ask if you need help in your itinerary. As there are only 30rooms, the staff seems to remember the guests and treats guests like friends, which I feel is an enhanced form of security and I really appreciate this service attitude. The room is very clean and spacious, equipped with all the essential facilities. Complimentary breakfast also offers a good and wide selection of western/taiwanese food and beverage. The hotel also offers minor but thoughful services/facilities like umbrella, freeflow coffee, impromtu afternoon tea, weather report etc. Furthermore, the hotel is just a short 5min walk from Zhongshan MRT station and Shin Kong Mitsukoshi. Ning Xia Night Market and Taipei Main Station (via Zhongshan Metro Underground Mall) are also a mere 15min walk away. There is also a 7-11 opposite the hotel. I enjoyed my stay at Dandy Hotel Tianjin and I will still stay at Dandy Hotel Tianjin for my next Taipei trip.
