Prau, Wonosobo, Central Java

With an altitude of 2,565 meters, temps hover around 10-17 celsius making Mount Prau is a friendly mountain for beginner climbers with great climate and with a less challenging terrain to the summit that rewards visitors with amazingly beautiful scenery.  Mount Merapi, Merbabu, Lawu, Sindoro, and Sumbing, look stunning from the top of MountPrau.

There are a number of hiking trails to Mount Prau, namely Dieng, Patakbanteng, Kalilembu, Dwarawati, and Wates. Each climbing route has a limit on the number of hikers starting from 200 people in Kalilembu, 250 people for Dieng, to 600 people in Patakbanteng. The Patakbanteng trail is the most popular because the terrain is quite easy, and the surrounding scenery is stunning.
