The Gold Coast has been named the most popular destination for Aussie families looking to enjoy a domestic holiday together in 2023 according to holiday search data from digital travel platform Agoda.
The Agoda data saw the Gold Coast outrank Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane for the top spot for family holidays.
After two years of travel restrictions families are flocking back to the sunshine state in droves this year.
And the reasons include the Gold Coast’s world-famous surf beaches, close by theme parks and stunning hinterland, providing a diverse holiday family experience.
With direct flights from major cities and key regions including Cairns, Newcastle and Launceston, the Gold Coast’s accessibility is convenient for families.
And with the cost of living and interest rate rises, the Gold Coast is proving attractive with accommodation options that includes budget-friendly resorts and hotels, and homes such as Agoda Homes.

Agoda’s Family Travel Trend Survey, which polled over 14,000 family travellers from 12 markets
globally, found the top three family attractions for Australians were visiting landmarks, spending
time outdoors and basking on picturesque beaches, no wonder the Gold Coast is our most popular domestic destination.
