1. Visit Churaumi Aquarium

One of the most popular activities in Okinawa is visiting Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium. Built on the grounds of Ocean Expo Park, where the 1975 International Ocean Expo took place, the aquarium is one of the largest in the world and a main draw for tourists to Okinawa. Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is home to the world’s biggest fish, as well as coral reef, whale sharks, manta rays and dozens of other marine creatures. Guests are invited to watch feedings, enjoy educational films and watch dolphin, sea turtle and manatee shows with the cost of admission.

Hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. March to September; 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. October to February (some activities and exhibits have different hours)

Admission: 1,880 yen for adults, 1,250 for high school students, 620 for elementary and junior high school students and free for children 6 years old and younger. After 4 p.m., tickets are 1,310 for adult, 870 for high school students, 430 for elementary and junior high school students and free for children 6 and younger. 2. Go Island Hopping

Okinawa is an island surrounded by islands, and each of those islands contributes to the serene beauty of this tropical paradise. The region is home to more than 150 islands with nearly 70 of them being inhabited.
