Transportation options at Yeouido Hangang Park

Fortunately for visitors to Seoul, there are many transportation options available in the city. Yeouido Hangang Park is connected to the Seoul Subway and can be reached by taking the Seoul Subway Line 5. Travelers can get off at Yeouinaru Station or Yeouido Station. The subway system in Seoul is easy to navigate and has signs that are in both Korean and English. With trains arriving almost every five minutes, it’s an efficient way to travel.

If you are planning on taking the Seoul Subway, try to travel outside peak hours (mornings and evenings) as the subway cars can get very crowded. Basic fares for subway tickets within Seoul generally cost between 1,250 won (1.10 USD) and 2,000 won (1.80 USD) and the price will vary depending on the distance you need to travel. Make sure that you hold on to your ticket for the entire subway ride as you will need your validated ticket to leave the subway station.

Seoul also has a great bus system, which is also well connected and inexpensive. Bus fare starts at about 1,050 won (0.95 USD) and increases from there depending on the distance of your journey. The buses are color coded (yellow, blue, green, red) which helps ensure that you get on the right bus.

  • Yellow buses are used for the Central Business District (the Downtown area).
  • Blue buses connect the downtown area to Seoul’s suburbs.
  • Green buses take riders to residential areas and transfer points.
  • Red buses are for commuters as they offer express services.

South Korea is also connected by train, so if you are planning on exploring outside of Seoul and the Yeouido Hangang Park area, trains are a great option for transportation. If you’re looking for a deal, Korail is the largest train service in South Korea and offers visitors a “KR Pass,” which is a discount ticket for rail services, to help encourage visitors to explore the country.

If you’re unsure how to best reach your destination, or are looking to find out which transportation option would be most efficient, you can always contact your hotel’s concierge or guest services and ask which method of transportation would be best.
