Welcome to Uzbekistan! Between the country’s dazzling blue mosques, beautifully carved minarets, Soviet-style buildings, and ancient towns stuck in time, it’s a destination you must see to believe.
On Day 1, we set out to explore the first place in Uzbekistan -Tashkent, its capital city. It’s the largest city in Central Asia and was the starting point of our Uzbekistan journey because of its well-connected international airport. We stayed at House De Moon, booked via Agoda, a comfortable and budget-friendly stay. We took a tour of the Tashkent City and ended the day at Magic City, Uzbekistan’s Disneyland.
On day 2, we discovered the vibrant city of Samarkand, a treasure trove of mosques and mausoleums. The high-speed train from Tashkent to Samarkand only takes two hours. We explored the popular attractions on Samarkand City Tour. We highly recommend booking your stay at Hotel Ishonch, which is conveniently located in the city center. Relax and savor local delicacies before departing for Bukhara.
On Day 4, we explored Bukhara’s charming streets and parks, a picturesque gem between Khiva and Samarkand. We stayed in the authentic Rumi Hotel & Hostel, a lovely budget-friendly hotel. We saw the best of Bukhara with Bukhara Full Day Old City Private Tour. On Day 5, we took an early morning stroll through the historic center of Bukhara and enjoyed the cultural treasures and folk dances. Then, we boarded the night train from Bukahra to Khiva.
After our arrival in Khiva, we booked our stay at the beautiful Caravan Sarai which a convenient 2-minute walk from the famous Itchan-Qala. Itchan Kala could easily be described as a large open-air museum, with plentiful intricate azure domes, towering minarets, unique clay buildings and ornate mausoleums. It’s the first place in Uzbekistan to be inscribed as a UNESCO heritage site.
After exploring Khiva, it was time for us to board an overnight train from Khiva to Tashkent. We devoured exceptional Central Asian cuisine and visited some local places that can be easily missed in the city. Our last day in Uzbekistan was all about wrapping up our incredible Uzbekistan trip in a relaxing and convenient way.
