Most people who visit Taoyuan’s city center choose to explore the area on foot. Getting to areas outside the city, however, is easy also. Taxis are a cheap way to travel in Taoyuan, and for Chinese speakers, buses may serve as excellent transportation. Guests traveling to nature reserves and tourist attractions in the outlying parts of the area can hop around on trains, as most of them have stations near the most popular touristy activities. - Hutou Mountain Park (Hutoushan Park) – An oasis in the middle of the city, Hutoushan Park offers well-paved hiking paths, shady picnic spots and several can’t-miss monuments and landmarks. Day 2 Taoyuan Itinerary | Tour Daxi District & Shopping
A trip to Taoyuan wouldn’t be complete without exploring the historic Daxi District, named by the Tourism Bureau of Taiwan in 2012 as one of the country’s Top 10 Small Tourist Towns. The region sits south of Taoyuan city center and offers stunning scenery dotted with historic and modern landmarks. Shopping also is a popular activity in Taoyuan. - Chiang Kai-shek Statue Park (Cihu Memorial Sculpture Park) – stroll through more than 150 statues of Chiang Kai-shek, famed politician and military leader. At least 100 of the statues are made of bronze, and besides the monuments, the park is filled with walking paths, historic buildings and a beautiful stream.
