Transportation
While Hyderabad’s train system does offer convenient transportation around the city, it does not go to the airport. Getting to and from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport still is easy, though, with a taxi or bus.
- Taxi – guests can book a pre-paid taxi at the service counter after landing in the arrivals area or hail a metered cab in the parking area outside the terminal. Depending on the drop-off location, fares into Hyderabad city center generally cost 500 to 1,000 INR (6.70 to 13.40 USD).
- Uber or Ola – ridesharing is available in Hyderabad through Uber and Ola. After booking a ride, passengers can wait in one of the dedicated pickup zones, which are well marked outside the terminal.
- Bus – this air-conditioned bus shuttles passengers from the airport to many popular points in the city. Guests may be able to get within walking distance of their hotels via the bus. Rides cost between 100 and 250 INR (1.35 to 3.35 USD).
- Auto rickshaw – passengers who don’t have a lot of luggage and don’t mind the wind blowing through their hair can hire an auto rickshaw from the airport. Customers should negotiate a price before getting into a rickshaw. Fares generally run 20 INR (.27 USD) for the first mile, so guests can estimate the cost of their journey according to distance.
