A trip to Taoyuan wouldn’t be complete without exploring the historic Daxi District, named by the Tourism Bureau of Taiwan in 2012 as one of the country’s Top 10 Small Tourist Towns.   • Chiang Kai-shek Statue Park (Cihu Memorial Sculpture Park) – stroll through more than 150 statues of Chiang Kai-shek, famed politician and military leader. At least 100 of the statues are made of bronze, and besides the monuments, the park is filled with walking paths, historic buildings and a beautiful stream.
