Regarded as central Vietnam’s “capital” city, Da Nang is a favorite for tourists looking for a quiet seaside getaway coupled with some can’t-miss tourist attractions. Things to do in Da Nang are suited for guests looking for outdoor adventures on Son Tra Mountain, cheap luxury resorts on My Khe Beach and scenic cultural and religious sites like Marble Mountains. In other words, anyone would enjoy a trip to Da Nang!

1. Marble Mountains
A visit to Marble Mountains offers three sightseeing treats in one. Guests can first photograph the picturesque cluster of mountains against a backdrop of the East Vietnam Sea. Then, a climb to the top of Mount Thuy for an even better view of the sea and outlying Da Nang is a must. Finally, visitors can explore the INSIDE of this network of five mountains! Each of the Marble Mountains is named after the five elements – Kim (metal), Thuy (water), Moc (wood), Hoa (fire) and Tho (earth), and each has its own set of intricate tunnels, carvings and Buddhist sanctuaries, which are still used by locals today.

2. Ba Na Hills
Ba Na Hills is a perfect escape for the traveler looking for luxury, relaxation and plenty of open space. The hill station resort is located just outside Da Nang, and while it is loved for its out-of-the-way atmosphere, it also is a popular tourist attraction for families, groups and adventurous solo travelers. Guests can ride the longest non-stop, single-track cable car in the world to the top of the hills and enjoy activities on the hillside as well as at nearby Hot Springs Park (Than Tai Mountain water park), Ba Na Hills Golf Club and Sun World Ba Na Hills. The posh community was built in 1919 by French colonists who wanted a leisure destination for French tourists. Thanks to Da Nang’s preservation efforts, however, the neighborhood is now enjoyed by tourists from across the world.
Things to do in Ba Na Hills
- Mercure French Village – guests can book a stay in Mercure French Village or just stroll through the narrow roads lined with ancient churches, French cottages and charming cafés and restaurants.
- Le Jardin D’amour – tourists will discover nine different love stories with a stroll through this ultra-colorful flower garden.
- The Golden Bridge – visitors who arrive at Ba Na Hills via cable car will cross this golden pedestrian bridge held by two stone hands to reach Le Jardin D’amour flower garden.
- Ba Na Hills SunWorld – there are plenty of activities and rides at this theme park, but the most popular is the Alpine Coaster, a winding wooden roller coaster that offers each passenger an individual set of brakes!
