Hat Yai Municipal Park
Hat Yai Municipal Park is a gorgeous green space that solo travelers and families will want to explore. The park itself is covered with walking trails that wind around scenic ponds with fountains, bridges, Buddhist temples and ornate sculptures. While walking through the park is highly encouraged, one of the best ways to admire the park is from above during a ride on the Cable Car Hat Yai City. The attraction was the first of its kind in Thailand and offers awesome views over Khao Kho Hong Mountain and the surrounding region.

Ton Nga Chang Waterfall
A seven-tiered beauty in the heart of Ton Nga Chang Wildlife Sanctuary, Ton Nga Chang Waterfall is one of the most popular tourist attractions near Hat Yai. The waterfall sits about 45 minutes west of the city and provides a day’s worth of hiking and nature activities. The trek up all seven tiers is about half a mile (1 kilometer), and each tier has unique characteristics that tourists won’t want to miss. The most popular spot, however, is the third tier, where the stream separates into two parts and resembles elephant tusks. The best way to get to Ton Nga Chang Waterfall is to hire a tuk tuk (from anywhere in town) or a minibus from the bus station near Asean Night Bazaar, Hatyai.

Hat Yai Khlong Hae Floating Market
Situated on a scenic canal just opposite Khlong Hae Temple, Khlong Hae Floating Market is an eco-friendly local market featuring a variety of foods and products from merging cultures. Visitors will find a taste-tempting array of Thai and Muslim foods, all of which are served in everything but plastic. Vendors use coconut shells, bamboo shoots and handmade pottery as earth-friendly food containers, and guests will find a wonderful selection of souvenirs and local products.

Songkhla Zoo
A refuge for endangered animals, Songkhla Zoo is a sprawling sanctuary located on the northern outskirts of Hat Yai near Songkhla Lake. - Kim Yong Market – considered Hat Yai’s shopping paradise, Kim Yong Market is a bustling market in city center where visitors can find everything from daily necessities and groceries to toys and appliances. Hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
- Central Festival Hat Yai – one of the city’s newest shopping spots, Central Festival Hat Yai is a modern mall conveniently located in the middle of town. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
- Asean Night Bazaar, Hatyai – built on two floors – one for food and one for souvenirs and accessories, – Asean Night Bazaar, Hatyai contains a flurry of local products and unique cuisine. Visitors also can find new fashions, stylish jewelry and shoes. Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday (closed Monday).
