Shopping in Manila | Markets & Malls – Where to Shop & Buy Souvenirs

Loved for its history and adored for its shopping malls and markets, Manila is a well-rounded destination for sightseers who also love a good bargain. Shopping in Manila encompasses everything from luxury shopping centers to budget-friendly markets, perfect for buying cheap souvenirs, fashionable clothing and local handmade goods. The best part about planning a shopping spree in Manila is that many malls and shopping districts are located just minutes away from some of Manila’s most popular attractions, like Intramuros, Fort Santiago, Manila Cathedral and Rizal Park. Book a stay at one of the many hotels in the Manila Metro, and get ready for one of the best shopping trips in the Philippines.
1. SM Mall of Asia (Pasay)
With an amusement park, cinema, ice skating rink and a front-row seat overlooking Manila Bay, SM Mall of Asia is perhaps one of the best places to go shopping in Manila. The mall offers an extensive list of name brand stores and high-end boutiques as well as a good mix of international restaurants. The ice skating rink can be found inside the mall, and the amusement park, SM by the BAY, is located outside the mall, just on the seaside. The park features a Ferris wheel, games, food vendors and several other rides and attractions.
Address: 123 Seaside Blvd, Pasay, 1300 Metro Manila
Hours: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily
Check In to City of Dreams – Nobu Hotel Manila, Step Out to SM Mall of Asia
2. Robinsons Place Manila (Ermita)
One of the centerpieces of the upscale neighborhood of Ermita, Robinsons Place Manila is the largest Robinsons mall in the world, so it will not disappoint during a shopping spree in Manila. The mall features Robinsons department store merchandise as well as loads of boutiques, international restaurants and a cinema. Even though Ermita is known as one of Manila’s metro areas, it also is home to University of the Philippines Manila, which is right across the street from Robinsons Place Manila. Probably needless to say, but the mall also features a good selection of fast food restaurants, like McDonald’s and Burger King, cheap local restaurants and even a food court, where visitors can sample local Filipino dishes for a fraction of the price of most restaurants.
Address: Pedro Gil St, Ermita
Hours: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday

3. Quiapo Market (Quiapo)
Sitting next to the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene, better known as Quiapo Church, the Quiapo Market is a 24-hour treasure trove of fresh produce, cheap clothing, electronics, herbal medicines … and whatever else you might want to buy while shopping in Manila! The market also is a great place to find souvenirs and handicrafts and even get your fortune told. The market is a long-standing outdoor market, and tourists can spend several hours browsing the rows and rows of shops. Plus, the area is full of cool Manila attractions, like Quiapo Church and Quinta Market & Fish Port.
Address: Plaza Miranda, R. Hidalgo Street, Quiapo, Metro Manila
Hours: 24 hours
Check In to Dela Chambre Hotel, Step Out to Quiapo Church
4. Glorietta (Makati)
A trip to Manila isn’t complete without a tour of the Makati metro district, where Glorietta is a star attraction. This mega shopping complex consists of five sections, all featuring their own unique selection of shops, arcades, wellness centers, restaurants and activities. Visitors who venture to the center of the mall may catch a fashion show or exhibit, and parents with children in tow might want to take a break in Greenbelt Park, a sweet green space in the middle of the shopping center that features walking trails, a small lake and an island, which is home to Sto. Niño de Paz Greenbelt Chapel.
Address: Ayala Center, Makati, 1226 Metro Manila
Hours: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily
Check In to Makati Diamond Residences, Step Out to Glorietta
5. Cartimar Market (Pasay)
The ultimate seaside shopping center for designer jeans, perfumes and even posh pets, Cartimar Market in the Pasay area has been living up to its reputation as the place in Manila to find everything since 1957. The market is teeming with shoe shops, sporting goods stores and book shops that all offer goods at much cheaper prices than you might find at other markets in Manila. Cartimar Market also is a huge draw for chocolate lovers, so travelers with a sweet tooth should add this Manila shopping spot to their itineraries. Shoppers can find other attractions in the area as well. Just minutes away is the World Trade Center Metro Manila, Upside Down Museum, Star City and of course, beautiful Manila Bay.
Address: Cartimar Avenue, Pasay City, Metro Manila
Hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily
