Chonburi Itinerary | Enough Activities & Attractions for a 3-Day Getaway

Chonburi makes a great weekend getaway from Bangkok or Pattaya, and with a 3-day itinerary, guests can squeeze in many of the top things to do and see. Families with children can spend a little more time at Sriracha Tiger Zoo and Koh Loy Park. Solo travelers may want to chill out all day (and night) on Si Chang Island. These star attractions are good places to start any vacation in Chonburi.

Day 1 Chonburi Itinerary | Explore Si Racha

The seaside city of Si Racha (Sriracha) is a fun place to explore in Chonburi, particularly for families with children. A good first day can begin with a thrilling morning at Sriracha Tiger Zoo and an afternoon on Si Chang Island. Travelers may even want to spend the night on Si Chang Island, which features several can’t-miss activities and things to do on its own.

• Sriracha Tiger Zoo – featuring tiger shows, crocodiles and opportunities to feed baby cubs, Sriracha Tiger Zoo welcomes visitors to its four thrill-filled zones. During the months of May through August, visitors can assist in hatching baby crocodiles, and the Scorpion Queen is a can’t-miss daily attraction. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. Entry fee is 450 THB (14.25 USD) for adults and 250 THB (8 USD) for children.

• Koh Loy Park – this small island park doubles as the main ferry port to Si Chang Island and is worth a walkabout before heading out to sea. Koh Loy Park sits at the end of Chao Phraya Surasak Montri Bridge, a great place to snap photos of the water, and contains Koh Loy Temple (Wat Koh Loy) and Guan Yin Shrine, both picturesque landmarks.

• Si Chang Island (Koh Si Chang) – the highlight of a trip to Si Racha is a trip to Koh Si Chang, or Si Chang Island. The ferry ride from Koh Loy Pier to Si Chang Island takes about 45 minutes. The island features a cozy beach, walking trails, endless seafood restaurants and several temples and landmarks. Travelers can rent bicycles or motor scooters to get around. Private passenger cars are not allowed, but the island is pretty easy to navigate on foot, too.

Day 2 Chonburi Itinerary | Explore Pattaya

What’s a trip to Chonburi without an adventure in Pattaya? While this city is infamous for its endless nightlife and beach parties, it also contains several kid-friendly activities. Tourists might not be able to accomplish all three of these activities in one day, but each one is worth a spot on any Chonburi itinerary.

• Lan Island (Ko Lan) – after a short ferry ride from Bali Hai Pier, travelers can be relaxing on Ko Lan, or Lan Island. The main go-to place on Ko Lan is Tien Beach, where parasailing, skiing and banana boat rides are everyday activities. The waters at Tien Beach are popular for snorkeling as well.

• Sanctuary of Truth – this massive cliffside temple carved completely out of wood is a sight to behold. The temple is considered the largest woodcarving structure in the world and sits perched on the tip of a cape in northern Pattaya City. It’s not just a place to take photos, though. Sanctuary of Truth contains a cache of entertainment, including horse rides, ancient boat rides, ATV courses and more. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Tickets are 500 THB (16 USD) for adults and 250 (8 USD) for children.

• Nong Nooch Tropical Garden – located just south of Pattaya City, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden contains an awe-inspiring matrix of gardens, nurseries, manicured lawns … and dinosaurs! Adults love the beauty. Kids love the fun. The park is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Tickets are 350 THB (11 USD) for adults and 250 THB (8 USD) for children.

Day 3 Chonburi Itinerary | Fun Activities at Waterparks & Museums

Chonburi has two can’t-miss water parks, but getting to both in one trip might prove to be a little too adventurous. Both parks have their perks, though, so families easily can decide which sounds more like their cup of tea. If water parks don’t get a unanimous vote, tours of Chonburi’s fun-filled museums might!

• Ramayana Water Park – massive slides, a lazy river and several unique rides lure crowds to Ramayana Water Park every weekend. The park also features two kids’ zones, caves, geysers and activity pools. Ramayana Water Park is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. All-day passes range from 590 THB (18.70 USD) to 1,190 THB (37.70 USD).

• Cartoon Network Amazone – considered one of the top 10 best water parks in all of Asia, Cartoon Network Amazone features one-of-a-kind water rides, slides and action-packed activities. Children also love the daily live shows, dances and open performances by Cartoon Network characters. The theme park is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. (Due to COVID-19, Cartoon Network Amazone is closed through November 2020.) Tickets range in prices and can be purchased online. Family packages are available.

• Teddy Bear Museum – while Pattaya’s Teddy Bear Museum sounds like a kids-only attraction, it also appeals to adults. The museum is dedicated to teddy bears, of course, and visitors can learn about the popular toy’s history as well as see unique displays of collections. Teddy Bear Museum is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Admission is 500 THB (15.80 USD) for adults and 300 THB (9.50 USD) for children.

• ART IN PARADISE Pattaya – visitors can get in the picture at this quirky museum that features 3D murals and interactive art pieces. With more than 100 scenes, families can take tons of fun photos and spend some quality time together in Chonburi! Hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Tickets are 400 THB (12.70 USD) for adults and 200 THB (6.30 USD) for children.
