Phuket Nightlife | Go-Go Bars on Bangla Road & Family-Friendly Activites

Phuket has a well-earned reputation for having a serious party scene, and Phuket nightlife, in particular, can get a little wild. That said, there’s still plenty to do for those who prefer more laidback evening entertainment. Much of the island’s nightlife is centered in Patong, a once sleepy fishing village now packed with tourists pretty much around the clock thanks to its beautiful beaches and abundance of night clubs and go-go bars. If your ideal night out involves more adrenaline than alcohol, you can check out a Thai boxing match or book a night dive with one of the local scuba companies. Looking for things to do in Phuket with kids at night? Phuket nightlife boasts several exciting cultural productions, multiple markets, and a mini golf course that’s open late. (Please check with venues during COVID-19 restrictions before planning a Phuket itinerary.)

Phuket Nightlife | Bangla Road

Bangla Road is unquestionably the center of the livelier elements of Phuket’s nightlife scene. Located in the center of Patong, the nighttime entertainment of Bangla Road is actually what draws many people to Phuket. As soon as the sun goes down, the neon lights flash on, and Bangla Road closes to traffic. Tourists and club promoters then fill the street! Bangla Road and the surrounding side streets, or sois, are packed with discos, go-go bars, and lounges of all types. Thanks to the street performers doing everything from magic to fire spitting, the fun starts even before you enter one of the many watering holes that line the street. (During COVID-19 restrictions, most bars and clubs on Bangla Road are temporarily closed.)

There is no cover charge, but there is a dress code, so visitors should make sure to dress smartly. The club is open Monday through Saturday from 10pm to 3am.
  • Red Hot is one of the best live music venues on Bangla Road. Bands play a variety of western pop and rock hits every night, and most are happy to take requests. There is a happy hour every night before the bands begin. Red Hot is open daily from 11am to 4am.
