Phuket Nightlife | Go-Go Bars on Bangla Road & Family-Friendly Activites

Phuket has a well-earned reputation for having a serious party scene, and Phuket nightlife, in particular, can get a little wild. That said, there’s still plenty to do for those who prefer more laidback evening entertainment. Much of the island’s nightlife is centered in Patong, a once sleepy fishing village now packed with tourists pretty much around the clock thanks to its beautiful beaches and abundance of night clubs and go-go bars. If your ideal night out involves more adrenaline than alcohol, you can check out a Thai boxing match or book a night dive with one of the local scuba companies. Looking for things to do in Phuket with kids at night? Phuket nightlife boasts several exciting cultural productions, multiple markets, and a mini golf course that’s open late. (Please check with venues during COVID-19 restrictions before planning a Phuket itinerary.)

Phukhet nightlife-Thailand-Bangla Road

Phuket Nightlife | Bangla Road

Bangla Road is unquestionably the center of the livelier elements of Phuket’s nightlife scene. Located in the center of Patong, the nighttime entertainment of Bangla Road is actually what draws many people to Phuket. As soon as the sun goes down, the neon lights flash on, and Bangla Road closes to traffic. Tourists and club promoters then fill the street! Bangla Road and the surrounding side streets, or sois, are packed with discos, go-go bars, and lounges of all types. Thanks to the street performers doing everything from magic to fire spitting, the fun starts even before you enter one of the many watering holes that line the street. (During COVID-19 restrictions, most bars and clubs on Bangla Road are temporarily closed.)

The Top Five Clubs and Bars on Bangla Road

  • Tiger Nightclub is a sprawling, three-story building containing everything you need for a night on the town. The 5,000-square-meter complex contains a disco, multiple bars, a restaurant, and a pool club, so you could easily spend your whole night within its walls. The disco is open from 9:30pm to 4am, but some of the bars on the first floor open earlier.
  • White Room Nightclub is one of the older nightclubs on Bangla Road, but thanks to a major overhaul, it is now also one of the more upscale establishments. The club has a massive dance floor, several bars, and an elevated VIP section where you can secure a table by buying bottle service. There is no cover charge, but there is a dress code, so visitors should make sure to dress smartly. The club is open Monday through Saturday from 10pm to 3am.
  • Red Hot is one of the best live music venues on Bangla Road. Bands play a variety of western pop and rock hits every night, and most are happy to take requests. There is a happy hour every night before the bands begin. Red Hot is open daily from 11am to 4am.
  • SUZY WONG’S AGO GO is one of Patong‘s most iconic go-go bars. The club is hard to miss thanks to the bright red door, which is illuminated by a Chinese-style lantern that casts a red glow on the entrance. Inside the club, you’ll find tables and sofas arranged around a main stage, where a variety of shows are performed each night. There is no cover charge to enter SUZY WONG’S AGO GO, which is open daily from 7:30pm to 3am.
  • TaiPan Entertainment and Hotel combines all of the most popular elements of Bangla Road‘s nightlife. The club offers live music, dancing, plenty of drink specials, and beautiful dancers. Happy hour begins when the club opens at 8;30pm and runs until 10pm. The party continues until TaiPan Entertainment and Hotel closes at 6am.

Phuket‘s gorgeous beaches are one of the area’s main draws, and thanks to the abundance of beachside bars, there’s no reason to leave the shore to enjoy the nightlife. From Kamala Beach to Patong, there are tons of bars where you can enjoy a cocktail with your toes in the sand during the day and then dance to the beats of a live DJ once the sun goes down. You’ll also find lots of bars and lounges on rooftops and terraces, many with a view of the Andean Sea.
